use | for organic synthesis. Used as a pharmaceutical intermediate |
Production method | It is obtained by the reaction of tetramethylthiuram disulfide and chlorine in carbon tetrachloride. First use carbon tetrachloride to absorb chlorine at low temperature to prepare a chlorine carbon tetrachloride solution for later use, then stir tetramethylthiuram disulfide and carbon tetrachloride into a suspension, and heat and reflux on a water bath. Add the above chlorine carbon tetrachloride solution quickly. After adding, evaporate most of the carbon tetrachloride, and filter out the precipitated sulfur after cooling. The filtrate is further concentrated and then subjected to vacuum distillation to collect the 65-68°C (26.7Pa) fraction, which is the finished product, with 80% yield. |
